Why Doesn't Your Site Work On My Mobile?
This is the presentation I gave for OpenTech 2010
If you're on mobile, you can view the mobile friendly version of the slides.
Here's the audio of the talk.
The gist of the talk is - more people have mobile web enabled phones than have iPhones or Androids. Open Data requires open access. If you are trying to create a service to serve people - make it work on all phones. Not just phones owned by a minority of rich people.
Justyn Clark says:
Great talk. Obviously developers want to focus developing app for smart devices because they're shiny and new. But as you point out development should concentrate on delivering open data on the technology of your target audience - not your web team.
