This is a problem with PDF. The conversion from it is very bad. I would recommend you try to find them in ePub format or in HTML and then convert them. You may be able to fix some of the errors by just editing the stylesheet with the ePub. But you'll need to know some CSS (it's not hard when you figured it out)
