The majority of this blog is authored by me, and most of what I write here is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International - also known as CC BY-SA.
You are free to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format, so long as attribution is given to the creator. The license allows for commercial use. If you remix, adapt, or build upon the material, you must license the modified material under identical terms.
Please note the following exceptions:
- Some stock images may have different licences.
- Promotional images and videos from 3rd parties may have different licences.
- Embedded content such as social media posts, videos, images, audio, and others may have different licences.
- Code samples written by me may be under an OSI approved free software licence.
- Text, code, images, and other media quoted from external sources falls under the UK's Fair Dealing provisions.

For the avoidance of doubt, I consider that using this blog's content to train an LLM or similar AI is only acceptable if the subsequent model is released under an open licence with full acknowledgement of source training material.

- Rogue Scholar and Archive-It are granted an irrevocable licence to my content under CC BY. If you obtain my content via their service, you are also bound by CC BY.
- British Library Legal Deposit. As per The Legal Deposit Libraries (Non-Print Works) Regulations 2013 - relevant libraries are granted rights to certain "Permitted Activities".
- Translations of my work with prior approval. Please contact me if you would like to republish my work in your language.
- Syndicated content. Some posts have been written for or syndicated to other sites which may have their own copyright notice. Please contact me if you would like to republish my work on your site.
- Content written for former employers may be © that employer. You will need to contact them for details.
- Material posted by me to social media (Mastodon, BlueSky, LinkedIn, etc) should be considered © and may not be reproduced outwith the terms of service of the platform.
