I have a feeling that someone will do a fan edit of the two films (assuming the second gets made) into a mini series. Almost a reverse of the Hobbit fan edit There and Back Again.

Speaking of which I remember quite enjoying the TV version with James McAvoy, although I'd not read the book at that point so I'm not sure how faithful it was.
