I've been comparing the cost of digital goods with a pint of beer for years; if I fancy a pint, the price (upto a fiver, or so, at least!) won't put me off. If I don't like it, I'll probably still finish it, but I won't buy another of the same. If I get 30-45 minutes of pleasure out of it, that's good value. I don't expect a pint to change my life. By a similar measure, a movie at the cinema is about £9, and lasts about two hours. A possibly related fact is that my Steam backlog now numbers in the thousands of games.
