I use Stocard for store cards, works really well. Annoyingly, Barclaycard won't let me use my card with Google Pay though it works perfectly with Applepay. Generally I find it easier to pull out my card anyway. Using the phone is useful when you have forgotten your wallet of course! Did that on a business trip to London a few years ago - thankfully Lloyds Bank were great and let me have emergency money. Thank goodness they (reluctantly) accepted my Government ID card as proof of identity.
