I’m with you on that Many devices, different, hard to replace chargers. So, another theory: maintaining the brand. So the Alexa Dot used to be USB. But folk in our household, and guests, would unplug ours to charge their phones etc. When you go use Alexa it doesn’t work, it’s not on, it’s unplugged again @&*%!! I wonder if that happens in other households. Therefore amazon issues their own socket, you never unplug Alexa, it’s always on, it is not devalued in any way.
