Some very reasonable points! I'd be interested in seeing just how much water I do use. Although it's a power shower, we have one of those "magic" shower-heads which supposedly reduce water consumption (Free from Thames Water). That said, I'll check at the end of the month just how many kWh have been diverted into the immersion heater and see whether it makes a huge impact either way.
