One of the images is blurry, the other one is sharp. I fail to see how the difference is not obvious. The one that is sharper also has more aliasing. It is a trade off which way to go on that. Obviously a higher DPI screen could give both sharpness and smoothed lines, and as you said above in this thread, this was a non-retina app.
But the difference is quite obvious. Look at the numbers on the seats, the blurry image is quote obviously blurry and gives the impression of a scaled down image, the sharper one says "oh hey there are numbers here." They are not readable in either image, but the sharper numbers look a lot better than blurry scaled down crud. (IMHO)
