The Vodafone Ball

The Vodafone logo.

I'm just on the coach back from the Vodafone annual Ball. That was amazing. We knew there would be four musical acts on - but no one had any idea who they were. First up, the incomparable Madness if that had been the headliner, I think a lot of people would have gone home happy. […]

Haircut

Two photos of me from behind. The first I have long hair all the way down my back. In the second, a good 20cm has been trimmed from it.

I had a hair cut the other day. My hair is now short. Well... Shorter. It's still halfway down my back but it feels so odd. Still, it's nice not to have split ends :-)I remember whenever anyone at school had even so much as a trim we'd chant "haircuuuuuuuut".I never knew why. (Imported from […]

E-Voting

Logo for Get A Vote.

Yet more mumblings of e-voting at El Reg. Does anyone seriously think that e-voting is a good idea?  Ignoring the fact that PRIVATE companies have complete control over the PUBLIC election process and ignoring the usability nightmare and ignoring what happens when there's a power cut, you still have the fact that it wont solve […]

I also have a Blackberry

Photo of an old black and white BlackBerry.

I use a RIM Blackberry (6720 I think) to get my emails and browse the web on the move. I think its interface is deeply lacking and the hardware is flakey to say the least. But it has an amazing keyboard. I couldn't imagine typing anything this long using predictive text - or even handwriting […]
