Sonnet #87
Farewell! thou art 2 dear 4 my possessing,
& like enough thou know'st thy estimate,
d charter of thy worth gives thee releasing:
My bonds in thee R all determinate.
4 how do I hold thee bt by thy granting,
& 4 th@ riches wr is my deserving?
d cause of this fair gift in me is wanting,
& so my patent back again is swerving.
Thy self thou gav'st, thy own worth then nt knowing,
/ me 2 whom thou gav'st it, else mistaking,
So thy gr8 gift upon misprision growing,
Comes home again, on better judgement making.
Thus hv I had thee as a dream doth flatter,
In sleep a king, bt waking no such matter.
