Sonnet #85
My tongue-tied muse in manners holds her still,
While comments of Ur praise richly compiled,
Reserve thr character wiv golden quill,
& precious phrase by all d Muses filed.
I think good thoughts, whilst other write good words,
& like unlettered clerk still cry Amen,
2 every hymn th@ able spirit af4ds,
In polished 4m of well refined pen.
Hearing U praised, I say 'tis so, 'tis true,
& 2 d most of praise add sumthing more,
bt th@ is in my thought, whose luv 2 U
(Though words come hindmost) holds his rank be4e,
Then others, 4 d breath of words respect,
Me 4 my dumb thoughts, speaking in effect.
